Easy family day out!

We got a Family Day Ticket for a trip to the local museum last Saturday and it was so easy! Activated it right on my phone, and it covered all of us. No fumbling with cash or multiple tickets. The journey planning service helped us figure out the best route too. Definitely made our outing stress-free. Will use them again for sure!

Always reliable for students

I've been using First Bus for my student pass for two years now, and they've always been consistent. I just renewed my Student Bus Pass for this academic year, and the process was smooth, as usual. Verification through Totum was quick. Compared to last year, the app seems a little snappier too. It's great knowing I can depend on them for getting to uni and around town without issues.

Good for daily commute

I bought a Commuter Pass through the app last month for my daily trips to work. The app itself is pretty easy to use for buying tickets and activating them. Live tracking was mostly accurate, which helped a lot with planning. My only small issue was one morning the app was a bit slow to load the ticket, making me a little stressed about missing my bus, but it eventually came through. Overall, it's good value and convenient.

I'm a student, what's the deal with getting a discount? Do I just show my student ID to the driver or what?

L Leah Hall 3 weeks ago
Nah, you gotta verify through something like UNiDAYS or Totum first. Then you buy the student pass through the app and show that.

You need to do it online or in the app. They won't just take your uni ID on the bus. It's usually a pretty sweet discount though, like 10-30%.

My bus is always late, is there a way to actually see where it is before I head out to the stop? Or do I just have to guess?

A Ashley Thompson 3 weeks ago
Definitely use the app! It has live bus tracking, super handy. Saved me loads of time not waiting in the cold.

R Richard Flores 2 weeks ago
Yeah, the app shows you exactly where your bus is on a map. It's pretty accurate too, for the most part.

Thinking of taking the bus from the airport. Is it just First Bus that does those routes, or do other companies like National Express run similar lines from the airport?

D Daniel Nguyen 1 month ago
Depends on the airport really. Sometimes it's just First, other times you'll see National Express or even local council buses. Worth checking the airport's website.

I think First Bus handles a lot of the local airport transfers, but National Express is more for longer distance stuff. For a quick hop from the airport, First is usually the one.

Can I use my First Bus pass on a Stagecoach bus if it's going the same way? Or am I stuck with just First Bus?

A Ashley B. 2 weeks ago
Nope, sadly not. First Bus tickets are only valid on First Bus services. I tried that once, didn't work.

A Ashley Lee 1 week ago
Generally, tickets aren't interchangeable between different operators like that. You'd need a specific ticket or pass for Stagecoach if you wanted to use their buses.

What's this 2 pound fare cap all about? Is it for every single journey or just certain ones? Does it apply to return tickets too?

B Brian Phillips 1 month ago
It's for single fares, a government thing. So any single journey is capped at 2 quid. Doesn't apply to returns, you'd just buy two 2 quid singles instead.

D Donna G. 1 month ago
Yeah, just single journeys. You can't get a return for 4 quid, it's just two individual 2 pound trips. It's a pretty good deal for short hops.
